Shaia Araghi is an associate with Newmeyer Dillion’s Newport Beach office joining the firm’s litigation team.

Shaia has gained legal experience through various avenues, including clerking at civil litigation law firms in Orange County, at the UCI School of Law Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic, and through various pro bono projects throughout law school.  Whether in private practice, as a clinic student, or on a pro bono case, Shaia is a zealous advocate for her clients.

As a law clerk, Shaia drafted motions and demand letters, conducted discovery, and researched business litigation, construction, and personal injury topics. During law school, Shaia gained extensive research experience as a Research Assistant to Professor Jack Lerner on copyright law matters, and assisted in drafting a chapter of an international copyright law book. As a clinic student and advanced clinic student at the UCI Law Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic, Shaia wrote a petition to the U.S. Copyright Office on behalf of various film organizations in favor of an exemption to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which was granted by the U.S. Copyright Office.

When outside of the office, Shaia enjoys traveling and staying active through Pilates.
