ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST


Newmeyer Dillion is excited to seek the next member of its talented accounting team!

The Accounts Payable Specialist position is based out of the firm's NEWPORT BEACH office.

In a friendly environment that promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing, the Accounts Payable Specialist will provide support to the firm’s accounting team, and will report directly to the Controller.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or equivalent (preferred);
  • Minimum of five years progressively responsible work experience;
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Outlook;
  • Familiarity with Aderant and Chrome River software;
  • Law firm experience is helpful;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills;
  • Team mindset;
  • Reliable in maintaining confidentiality;
  • Advanced organizational skills;
  • Ability to manage competing demands.

Daily Expectations:

Thorough review of invoices and supporting documentation will be made, prior to coding and entering into the Firm’s accounting software. Reconciliations done by verifying entries and system report comparisons. Regular maintenance of reports, spreadsheets and A/P files will help to keep the department current and organized.

This role will require strong attention to detail, enabling the candidate to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, while gathering and analyzing information skillfully and prompting recommendations and implementations for solutions.

Excellent customer service skills will drive impeccable and effective communication with clients (both internal and external), allowing for prompt attention to customer needs and resolution to difficult situations. Regular communication with all offices will help to ensure timely processing.
